Catalyst Saturday Mic Live 12.19.15 Event Summary Saturday, December 19th I went to Saturday Mic Live at Catalyst Hip-Hop. I had gone to an amazing Bboy Jam earlier in the day. Every Saturday the good people at Catalyst open up the church building to the public. This place is so hip-hop and so positive it’s amazing. Downstairs they a big white wall open for graffiti, and I’ve seen some talented artists out at this event tagging gorgeous works of art. I’ve always loved graffiti, but it’s not something that is easy to meet people in that world. Obviously because graffiti is generally illegal it’s hard to meet graffiti artists. Upstairs there are two rooms that I spend most of my time at Catalyst in. First they have a Bboy room equipped with PA speakers and a good hardwood floor for breaking. They also have a padded area to practice more dangerous moves on. The area is great, the walls are decked out with graffiti, and they have mirrors for you to see how you look.
