Raury isn’t a large mainstream voice in hip-hop at the moment. So I’m going to make a few introductory posts for his music. I’m going to showcase the 5 most essential songs in Raury’s catalog, in my humble opinion.

Devil’s Whisper
Devil’s Whisper is currently Raury‘s most popular song in terms of Youtube streams. I couldn’t leave this song off an introduction list. On the song we see Raury‘s rapping skills for the first time( on his own song). Even though he has always stated his music is hip-hop. This definitely put Raury more firmly into the hip-hop camp than he was before this song release. At the same time, he was able to maintain his personal style of folk influences that he started on his debut project Indigo Child.
This track features a similar style of lead guitar that we see on other notable Raury tracks, such as God’s Whisper. This time Raury flips the concept on its head and talks about the devil’s whispers. “You better run from the devil” Raury cries on this very passionate and soulful track. This song is good to see Raury‘s range as an artist, but its not necessarily representative of what his average song will sound like.
