Music Thoughts : Should Kanye’s Public Outbursts Effect Your Views on his Music ?

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , ,

With Kanye West constantly making incidents, being arrogant, and increasingly making political messages, should we separate these things from how we view his music? Kanye West‘s style of Hip-hop has always been incredibly personal. He plays off the fact that you are familiar with his life, to give his lyrics context. Kanye often uses an under dog narrative, but the high levels of arrogance he has been displaying really hurts that message in his songs. When you take a moment and compare his song lyrics, to the facts of what we know happened in all these events, it can change the way you view his music.

RJ Music Reviews : Props and Bonds Saturday Mic Live Artist Dermo ( September performance review)

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ,

– 1# Performance Artist Review Dermo–   The first official act of the night was by Dermo. He’s tall and big man, with a good character. He came dressed in black and sported a sharp and cleanly handled beard. As imposing as his statue and figure is in a crowd, his abilities as a performer are even bigger.  Dermo’s a crowd raiser, he gets people moving and acting. That’s one of the biggest performance points I took away form him. This is actually not an easy thing to do, but Dermo does it so organically. I noticed people moving their feet and responding energetically to key moments in his street witty bars. He definitely had the attention of a few ladies who were just entertained by his character (should bring out to spots to perform some homies can rebound off the shots he doesn’t chases down lol).

Music Thoughts #7 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Meek Mill It’s time to stop being a part time gangsta

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

#7 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Meek Mill It’s time to stop being a part time gangsta       Meek Mill at this point in his life isn’t gaining anything positive from maintaining this gangsta label. It’s okay to stop being gangsta; it’s okay to not be directly in that lifestyle. His implicit gangsta statements or portrayals have opened him up to ridicule by Beanie Sigel. They have also allotted The Game the best position to push and maintain a heavy L on his person. He is fitted to or held by the rules of gangstas, when we see the Meek Mill‘s average moves doesn’t sync with this lifestyle.

Music Thoughts #6 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: charity and public works

#6 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: charity and public works Meek Mill needs to not have any conflicts for atleast two years. He has to stay out of negativity and just move his brand away from all that, the longer the better. During those two years Meek needs to be building his brand up by doing positivity. Alot of public relations and charity over that time minimum will really help him out. Most of this should be done in Philly. This is going to make it harder for Beanie Sigel, The Game and anyone else to go at Meek Mill. He can start small, doing things like putting new rims at a few basket ball parks in the city. Donating to food drives, hosting events, buying school supplies for kids in the hood and inner city. Using his brand to try and attract more charities to the troubles going on in these negative urban areas.

Music Thoughts #5 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Make Amends with The Game

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

#5 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Make Amends with The Game Meek Mill needs to also make amends with The Game. Alot of the rationale behind this can be found in #4 apologizing to Beanie Sigel about sucker punching him. If Meek Mill apologizes to Beanie and then moves to squash the beef with The Game it will make it harder for both parties to draw anymore points from beefing with Meek Mill. The Game vs. Meek Mill battle is pretty much over on the music industry side. The Game has won that, it’s just now about how much damage either side is going to suffer publicly or in the backstreets.  Meek is in a bad position because The Game has the moral high ground. He has taken fans from Meek Mill, he has hurt his brand. The biggest win handed to The Game was by Meek Mill‘s own guys when they punched Beanie Sigel in the face sucker punch style.

Music Thoughts #4 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Apologize to Beanie Sigel

#4 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Apologize to Beanie Sigel  Continuing with this thought process of Meek Mill giving his fans something positive to defend him with. He needs to apologize to Beanie Sigel. There are many reasons for this and many fools who only have their pride (which is only temporarily valuable if that) will say you can never apologize to another man. If Meek Mill apologizes he will actually win the battle with Beanie and take out a lot of steam out of his beef with The Game. Also, in the long run this will give him street credibility with people who really understand the codes.

Music Thoughts #3 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: He needs to apologize to Safaree

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

–#3 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: He needs to apologize to Safaree    There is a thing that I won’t get that much into now called the Principal of momentum (applied to natural world). How this applies to Meek Mill is that he has so much negative momentum going on in his life. He really needs to do his best to change it. He needs to slow down the negative snow ball that is bearing down on him and also create his own small but positive snow ball, then just let that run.  Alot of the situations and a major fuel to alot of Meek Mills problems comes actually from his relationship with Nicki Minaj (when he’s not directly creating these problems himself ). Now, Meek is still the primary agent creating these problems but his relationship with Nicki seems to amplify them. His under handed actions to gain a romantic relationship with Nicki Minaj, has opened up the karmic door for him to have similar stuff done to him now.

Music Thoughts #2 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Stop hanging outwith negative company

#2 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Stop hanging outwith negative company This should be very easy to see and also self explanatory to everyone but surprisingly it’s not. I’ve suffered from bouts of this myself in life. I can tell you from personal experience, (past and present) alot of problems will start going away when you work on yourself and also remove yourself from negative company. I won’t go through Meek Mill‘s affiliation history that would be too long and unnecessary. The recent situations between him, The Game and Beanie Sigel is enough to support my point. The Game has a history of starting or being involved in industry beefs. ‘No matter how cool hanging out with The Game is at present (or in the past), what his behavioral history and thought process shows, is that when he has a problem with you, he will bring it to song and potential rap beef.‘ So, if The Game believes something happened that did not happen, or something seriously offends him, he’s going probably going to start a rap beef.

Music Thoughts #1 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Stop using Twitter and Social Media

– #1 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Stop using Twitter and Social Media This is very obvious to everyone that is familiar with Meek Mill in any way or shape possible. From my memory I can’t think of any rapper in Hip Hop more synonymous with the famous Twitter Fingers label than Meek Mill. There is no winning for him at this point on Twitter (the way he uses it now). He has to stop having these personal, highly emotional and random exchanges with his audience. He reacts to everything he reads and or happens to him on social media. This gives people who don’t like Meek Mill the ability to attack and corner him into positions that are at best zero sum gains (normally they are lose, lose situations).

Music Thoughts: How Meek Mill can stop losing and start winning (General Overview)

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Meek Mill is in a situation where every battle he gets into results in a loss for him. The reason behind this is physiological and a bit complicated. What is not as complicated is how Meek Mill can turn these losses he’s been taking into future wins for him and his team. I’m going to break this down a bit more simple into a kinda of list. People like list and I will try to keep it that simple. If you want more context you can listen to my tired off the dome audio about this which actually came first. *By the way to understand my view points, I must first point out that I think that rap beefs are actually negative to the rapper. I was working on a series to explain and make this position more clear but I’ve been dealing with interpersonal issues (helping friend with life problems). So with that said, let’s get into how Meek Mill can start winning.     #1 How Meek Mill turn the L’s into W’s: Stop using Twitter and Social Media   This is very obvious to everyone that is familiar with Meek Mill in any way or Read More…

Music Talks: Quick context for Beanie Sigel Vs Meek Mill Feud (Rj Context)

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Beanie Sigel vs Meek Mill a quick and general context  Beanie Sigel is a Philadelphia Hip Hop legend (new legend) who has entered into a surfaced beef with Rapper Meek Mill. There is alot going on in this beef, making it more complicated than it should be. My focus here is to quickly provide context and not spend too much time going over every detail that happens or lead up to this feud (complex develop, simple solutions).     Rapper Meek Mill entered a feud with another rapper named The Game. This rap beef was by The Game‘s account meant to be a lyrical one with just a one on one physical battle (a boxing match, fade, fisty cuffs, etc). This allegedly started over Meek Mill informing Sean Kingston about the robbery of his personal items (his jewelry got taken and he was assaulted from the back).     The Game considers this snitching and he informs us over the internet the basic run down.  He told Meek Mill information about the robbery that was going down, a heads up to stay clear.  Meek Mill then supposedly went and told Sean Kingston which lead to the police questioning The Game Read More…

Hip-Hop RPG Episode 1

I did some audio consultation and sound effects for the youtube series “The Hip- Hop RPG“. This series created by  Dom (of the DSC youtube channel) focuses on a fictional story of a time traveling Kendrick Lamar fighting Illuminati aliens. Basically the idea is to create a parody of Final Fantasy and modern day Hip-Hop. Dom was heavily influenced by Final Fantasy VII when he was young, and his podcast puts him into the world of Hip-Hop on a regular basis. Being the talented visual artist and creator he is, The Hip-Hop RPG married these two worlds together.  Dom reached out to me for help with some sound effects and audio selection. I was more than glad to help. I’ve always been a big fan of his channel, and I feel he is an incredibly talented artist. He always stresses hard work and it shows in his end product.

Quick Artist Introduction to Righteous Rod: A Versatile Spitter

Follow Righteous Rod   Alright I’m going to take this moment to talk about Righteous Rod. I first met Righteous Rod at the Hip Hop For Flint Charity Concert. The dude was really energetic and really enthused about his set. I have to say he gave an amazing performance. This is especially true, given the fact that there were technical difficulties at the event. This prevented the music from playing properly while he was performing. The dude still killed it, energetic and keyed into his performance.   I ended up listening to Rod’s music on soundcloud, and I was really impressed by what I heard. What impressed me about him the most is how many different styles the guy raps in. I myself like changing up my flow and cadence, so I really give out props to other artist for being able to do that. I really do like that the songs I’ve heard from him so far.

Quick Artist Introduction to Kooley4rmTheAve Cloudy Miami Lyricist

Its your boy Absolute Zero, Defender of the Universe, and I’m back to talk about Kooley4rmTheAve. I first met this artist at the Hip-Hop For Flint Charity Concert. That night I saw Kooley come in and perform a very live set. Kooley came in and delivered really dope bars over amazing beats. He was really energetic in his performance and his songs sounded really good. His performance was tight and really got me interested in his music.   When I made it around to checking Kooley’s soundcloud, I was very impressed with what I found there. The only problem I have with Kooley’s soundcloud is, that he only has two songs. This appears to be all the music Kooley has released so far. I can’t hold this against Kooley too much because the two songs he does have uploaded are amazing.   The first song I heard from Kooley is a song called “High Love”. Here we see Kooley delivering a heavily autotuned rap verse. I don’t listen to a lot of autotune music, but Kooley pulls it off so well the song just flows. The song features a smooth female vocal feature on the hook. This Read More…
