Mike’s Thoughts: Learning to DJ

Learning how to DJ taught me more about hip-hop than anything. There’s something special about having a tactile response with the music. The act of manipulating a record is so physical it changes the way I interacted with music. I wasn’t just passively listening to music. I was creating something new out of a recorded track. I think learning this put me back to the roots of hip-hop.
