Hip-hop instrumentals are often stationary, but they don’t have to be. I love when I get a well executed beat switch, it makes the track more dynamic and interesting. This track is one of the best examples of a beat switch I’ve ever seen. Every few measures the beat evolves into something new.

Old Slaves With Kanye talking about new slaves I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of something. We still have the old type of slaves now. They are putting together iphones and building world cup stadiums.
Mike’s Thoughts: Console Gaming For the first time in my life, I can say I would rather not have a current generation console than the money. Nothing is that captivating on console for me at the moment. Games like Fallout 4, and Metal Gear Phantom Pain got PC releases. So I’m likely just better off upgrading my PC. –
Mike’s Thoughts: Learning to DJ Learning how to DJ taught me more about hip-hop than anything. There’s something special about having a tactile response with the music. The act of manipulating a record is so physical it changes the way I interacted with music. I wasn’t just passively listening to music. I was creating something new out of a recorded track.
