Mixing 1 ) Engineering Mixing is the process of taking all the individual elements of a song or instrumental and forming them together into something that sounds good. Often times sound engineers try to give each instrument its own space in the mix and make sure that elements don’t overlap each other. This is more of an art than a science. Mike’s Thoughts: Learning to DJ Learning how to DJ taught me more about hip-hop than anything. There’s something special about having a tactile response with the music.
