Top Ten Artists to Listen too if you want more Andre 3000 – Artist # 7  “I like Andre 3000, judging by his history and appeal many of you like Andre as well. The problem is that there is only one Andre 3000. However Absolute Zero has created a list of other acts that do not just imitate style(that’s not Hip Hop), no they have a similar soul and vibe that naturally remind you of Andre. This is an intro to a score of artists you may not be familiar with, that could be substitutes for Andre. Hope you like the number 7 artist on this list and I hope you like  next artist to come, thanks so much for reading.” Rj Knight     # 7

Backpack Beatz – Mochilla – Album Review

Backpack Beatz – Mochilla – Album Review   Backpack Beatz released his first rap album under his current name “Mochilla”. For any of you Spanish speakers you will notice that the title is spanish for backpack. Backpack takes the word and pronounces it “Moe – Chill – A”. This goes a long way towards describing the somber feeling of the album. Backpack Beatz is a Producer/ Rapper/DJ from Pensacola, Florida. The first time I met Backpack was in 2011. At that time he was rapping under the name “Livin Proof” and producing under Backpack Beatz. I heard his first released at that time, a project called “Ramen and Fruit Punch“. Backpack produced this entire album himself. You can easily compare him to other producer/rappers such as Kanye West, Big K.R.I.T. , and J. Cole.

Capital 6 – Summer Jelly Vol 2 – Album Review

Cap 6, Cap 6 !!! We back in here, and I’m glad to say that I have a new full length from Capital 6 to review, Summer Jelly Vol 2. Capital 6 is a dope collective of lyricists coming out of Tallahasse. Crew member Intricate explains perfectly how to describe the sound of Capital 6 in his track “Heads Up”. Here he delivers the lines “My crew lane is like the Pharcyde meets Wu-Tang”. You have Crimson who delivers so many bars in each line sometimes, I wonder how he is even breathing. Even more amazing, Crimson has the uncanny ability to stay perfectly in pocket . You have an Intricate, intense aggressive lyricist who has some of the most quotable bars and rhyme schemes out of any one in the crew. You have Donny Bransco, who without a doubt has the hypest choruses of anyone in the crew. Don’t let that hype box him in, Donny is no stranger to singing on his tracks as well. You have Rob Ohtis who sings the most in the crew. He has one of the dopest outlooks on love and life I’ve ever heard on wax. Finally you have Hakeem Furious ,who is like Read More…

Crimson x Ethnikids – We Put Out Some Songs – EP Review ?

I’m going to review what is essentially a new EP from Crimson  and EthniKids. Crimson who hails from the Bronx and Tallahassee’s own Julian Cruz have teamed up to deliver one of the most interesting groupings of music I’ve heard this year. Crimson, outspoken member of Capital 6 is known as an incredible lyricist. He just has a way of putting a lot of really big words into really tight rhyme schemes that flow off effortlessly. J. Cruz was introduced to me by outlawed beats. J. Cruz and the EthniKids(his production team) stood out immediately for me with high quality production and electronic influences. Based on both artists previous material, you wouldn’t really see these two coming together. They are both excellent artist but they seemed to occupy different niches of music. That would be my sentiment except for the fact that the last track I heard from Crimson with an heavy electronic influence was Throw it Down. This track remains to this day my favorite Crimson songs, so I had high hopes going into this project. . Low and behold after hearing a few rumblings about a release being in the work. We finally saw some of these tracks Read More…
