Top Ten Artists to Listen too if you want more Andre 3000 – Artist # 4  “I like Andre 3000, judging by his history and appeal many of you like Andre as well. The problem is that there is only one Andre 3000. However Absolute Zero has created a list of other acts that do not just imitate style(that’s not Hip Hop), no they have a similar soul and vibe that naturally remind you of Andre. This is an intro to a score of artists you may not be familiar with, that could be substitutes for Andre. Hope you like the number 10 artists on this list and I hope you like  next artist to come, thanks so much for reading.” Rj Knight     # 4

Introduction to Raury – Post 5 – Devil’s Whisper

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Raury isn’t a large mainstream voice in hip-hop at the moment. So I’m going to make a few introductory posts for his music. I’m going to showcase the 5 most essential songs in Raury’s catalog, in my humble opinion. # 5

Jay- Z Stop Telling Me How Rich You Are

Jay- Z Stop Telling Me How Rich You Are Jay-Z stop telling me how rich you are, I already know. With Jay-Z’s last  two records I almost fell asleep listening to them. All Jay seems to want to talk about is designer clothes and luxury cars. I’ve never shopped for high end clothes, so I can’t even listen to Jay and understand his music. He seem too have exhausted this topic already and it’s making his music stale. Jay- Z also is not helping when he refers to himself as an inspiration.

Jay – Z We Don’t Need Another Streaming Service

Jay-Z‘s music streaming service Tidal is not what the music listeners are asking for. Currently the market for music steaming services is already overcrowded. We have Spotify, Youtube, Google Play, and iTunes  already firmly established in  the market. If you’re going to enter into the already crowded music streaming market your going to need a unique selling point. Tidal doesn’t seem to have strong unique selling point. The ones that it does have don’t seem compelling enough for customers to want to migrate platforms for. Other platforms have huge inherent advantages over tidal. Unless Jay-Z has a trump card to deliver more value, Tidal is doomed.

Backpack Beatz – Mochilla – Album Review

Backpack Beatz – Mochilla – Album Review   Backpack Beatz released his first rap album under his current name “Mochilla”. For any of you Spanish speakers you will notice that the title is spanish for backpack. Backpack takes the word and pronounces it “Moe – Chill – A”. This goes a long way towards describing the somber feeling of the album. Backpack Beatz is a Producer/ Rapper/DJ from Pensacola, Florida. The first time I met Backpack was in 2011. At that time he was rapping under the name “Livin Proof” and producing under Backpack Beatz. I heard his first released at that time, a project called “Ramen and Fruit Punch“. Backpack produced this entire album himself. You can easily compare him to other producer/rappers such as Kanye West, Big K.R.I.T. , and J. Cole.

Piss on Your Grave Feels Like Kanye Pissing on his Legacy

Travis Scott – Piss On Your Grave (feat. Kanye West) (Official Video) – Travis Scott released a new video for his third single off of his debut album Rodeo. The single entitled “Piss on Your Grave” features Kanye West . Kanye has been going down a bad path for a long time now. I have a lot to say here, so I am going to break down this article in into three sections. I’m going to go into detail about the quality of the song and the music video. After that I’ll look at the big picture for Kanye West in terms of his music legacy. —

Album Review – Raury – All We Need

I’m not going to lie, nothing on this tape really grabbed me. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying that the music was terrible. Raury had an interesting sound, but nothing about his lyrics or performance made me want to listen to the record again after the first few listens. But I did come away with the thought that Raury had a lot of potential. So coming into this project my hopes were that Raury would have refined his sound a bit more, as well as improve his lyricism.

Old Slaves With Kanye talking about new slaves I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of something. We still have the old type of slaves now. They are putting together iphones and building world cup stadiums.

Is Chance The Rapper Losing Promoting Radio ?

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , ,

I was watching the new Chance the Rapper performance  of “Angels” featuring Saba on Stephen Colbert’s late night show. I’ve been writing a lot about alternative rappers like Kendrick Lamar, who have been struggling with the radio audience. Since Chance is also an alternative act, I was shocked to see him promoting radio. This is especially true considering its a platform artists like him have struggled on in recent years.  I don’t think this is a good direction for Chance. He worked the lyrics of the track he performed into support for radio stations with complimentary visual gimmicks. Although the performance was creative and well executed, I’m going to explain why Chance the Rapper should not be promoting local radio anymore.
