Music Thoughts : Should Kanye’s Public Outbursts Effect Your Views on his Music ?

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , ,

With Kanye West constantly making incidents, being arrogant, and increasingly making political messages, should we separate these things from how we view his music? Kanye West‘s style of Hip-hop has always been incredibly personal. He plays off the fact that you are familiar with his life, to give his lyrics context. Kanye often uses an under dog narrative, but the high levels of arrogance he has been displaying really hurts that message in his songs. When you take a moment and compare his song lyrics, to the facts of what we know happened in all these events, it can change the way you view his music.

Music Thoughts: Beanie Sigel’s I’m Coming (Track Review)

*Beanie Sigel “I’m Coming” (Meek Mill Diss) (WSHH Exclusive – Official Audio   Rj Knight’s Music Thoughts on Beanie Sigel’s “I’m Coming” (Track Review)   This is my quick thoughts on Beanie Sigel‘s diss song I’m coming. I think this song is very good, can’t rate it out of 10. The reason is because I have to re-listen to Beanie Sigel older material and rate this by his previous battle or beef songs. Then I have to rate it to battle or beef songs of the year it was released for the minimum requirements to give a rating. –Yes, I put alot of thought into rating I make. The song I’m coming, really is alerting if you listen to the lyrics. This is something that listeners in today’s climate can easily miss. They listen more to the sonics, vocals or sound aesthetics of a song rather than the lyrics and or bars.  Beanie goes in hard, I don’t like to say that lot but he really does. His flow is great, his schemes are good, his lyrics are mentally stimulating from a lyrical standpoint. Most importantly for me is that his content feels solid as the nuances of violence and battles Read More…

Extended Introduction to JRed – Before The Fame – Album Review

| | No comments yet | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I first heard Jred at the Hip Hop 4 Flint Charity Event. This was a charity event to raise money for the people of Flint Michigan after their drinking water crisis. At the event I heard Jred perform a nice set. Jred performed a set full of trap flavored bangers. His performance was high energy. Jred danced his way across the stage while playing heavy beats. This all came together for a fun show.   Jred       I got a chance to listen too Jred‘s full length project “Before The Fame”. My initial impression of Jred is that he is a rapper who is most comfortable making slightly dark, trap influenced bangers. Jred talks a lot about drugs, a lot about his swagger, and a lot about his grind on this project.

Rj’s Response : Absolute Zero’s Music Thought on Frank Ocean’s Reach

This is Rj Knight with a response to Absolute Zero’s Music Thought “Music Thoughts : Frank Ocean is Back But Will He Have The Same Reach“. In my Rj Context, I made it easier to understand and perceive the Frank Ocean situation for those who do not know or understand the topic and subject matter (type of music, audience, time period, etc). Also It helps those who might not fully remember the events of yester year to properly put the question into context and form a personal opinion and or conclusion. In that I tried t stay as neutral as possible to Absolute Zero‘s question, ultimately will Frank Ocean have the same reach? I will now proceed to respond and answer to some degree that question.  —(read Rj Context, for information to response)     —        Frank Ocean will probably not have the same reach has he did previously. There are many factors working against him, and are making it difficult for Frank Ocean to achieve similar levels of success. Despite this I think that Frank Ocean has the ability (albeit low chance) to achieve close to previous levels. Even if Frank Ocean does not reach his Read More…

Music Thoughts : Frank Ocean is Back But Will He Have The Same Reach(Rj Knight context)

Music Thoughts : Frank Ocean is Back But Will He Have The Same Reach   Music Thoughts: Is Frank Ocean still the man, he had a lot of steam off Odd Future, help from major star power like Jay Z, Beyonce, etc, and the media misunderstanding him by stating he was the first openly gay rapper ((???))-So with all of that will Frank Ocean have the same reach     Rj Knight Context    Frank Ocean is an R & B singer who raps. His music is very lyrical, which if viewed from a rapper perspective would be very impressive. His work ethic has seeming dimmed somewhat since his last project. Which showcases some contrast to the work ethic of his peers and co-workers, Kanye West and Jay Z. This has prompted Absolute Zero to ask a very serious question about Frank Ocean‘s ability to sell.        Productive momentum and positive externalities are two things that while may not have a direct 1 to 1 relation(every time), indeed do still have relation. What this statement means can be conveyed through contextual association. Frank Ocean has been a work horse in the music industry behind the Read More…

Mike’s Thoughts: Console Gaming For the first time in my life, I can say I would rather not have a current generation console than the money. Nothing is that captivating on console for me at the moment. Games like Fallout 4, and Metal Gear Phantom Pain got PC releases. So I’m likely just better off upgrading my PC. –

Atmosphere – “This Lonely Rose ft. Blueprint & Aesop Rock”   Rhymesayers has always been one of the dopest labels in hip-hop. They just put out a collaboration track between Atmosphere, Aesop Rock and Blueprint. These are all artists that I have great memories of listening too and they all come correct.
